Mumbai came to a standstill made the life miserable for people on the roads as rain lashed the city and uprooted many trees in the process. Mumbai’s lifeline, local trains were off the track and more than 118 services were cancelled in Central Railway. Disaster struck in the form a slab falling and a person drowned in a nullah to make the matters worse. It was reminding people of 26-7 Mumbai rains but there was disruption all throughout the city and hampered normal life during the weekend. The so called disaster management could not help much to the people caught in floods on the main streets. Government machinery should work for the welfare of the people during the monsoon season. Otherwise, the very purpose of having a disaster management cell is defeated during the trying times. Rains make Mumbai life most miserable.
