Black cats New Zealanders had Team India on the mat as Dhoni and his blue brigade struggled against a disciplined Kiwi outfit to lose the T-20 world cup opener with a humiliating 47-run loss. Our team looked overconfident after recent successes and it was a reality check for our team that nobody can take any team for granted in an T-20 game. It was shocking to find our strong batting lineup crumble like a cookie in conditions favouring spin which is our forte. The loss should do good for Team India as it would be an eye-opener and our team will not be complacent in the matches to come and one should witness an improved performance from our boys in the coming games. India still look favourites to win the T-20 world cup going by their recent record but New Zealand are the dark horse for the tournament now. The T-20 world cup promises to be an exciting tournament from here on with the favourites getting the first knock-out punch but many upsets are on the cards and may the best team on performance win the cup. Dhoni and his men should play their natural game by putting the loss on the backburner and concentrate on future games to enhance their performance which they are very much capable of.
