Rising potholes in the city

Despite BMC’s tall claims of rain readiness we have seen water logging and that in turn obstruct free flow of traffic. Heavy rains inundating low lying areas and blocking vehicular traffic create utter chaos on the roads of Mumbai. To add salt to the wound, presence of pot holes spreading throughout the breadth and width of the Mumbai roads and in highways and other focal points keep the road users on tender hooks. Too much of traffic snarls leads to minor accidents on the roads. The subways suffer most with poor lighting arrangements and the roads inside shows potholes and craters creating a fear among road users. It is customary that water logging in streets is followed by traffic snarls and chaos on the roads. Lethargy of BMC workers was clearly visible and no one cares for public miseries. It is time to have a rational thinking about the road care and that can keep away horror from the road users during heavy rain in the Metro city.
