A rocket on Tuesday crashed into the tennis court of Indian Ambassador Manpreet Vohra’s house, but there were no reports of any injury, external affairs ministry sources said.

Initial reports said that a rocket fired from an unidentified location had landed at around 11.15am on the volleyball court of the Indian ambassador’s house in Kabul’s diplomatic zone.

No casualties or reports of anyone injured in the envoy’s house. Apart from the Indian ambassador’s residence, other mission staff also stay inside the premises.

The attack has come at a time when the Afghanistan capital is hosting an international peace meeting called the Peace Process Conference. The meet is being attended by the representatives of at least 27 countries worldwide.

Notoriously inaccurate, rockets are an occasion fired into the city, often towards the fortified downtown area that houses not only the Indian embassy, but a number of other foreign delegations, the headquarters of the international military mission, and Afghan government ministries.

The attack comes amid extremely tight security in the capital following last week’s deadly explosions that claimed over 150 lives and coincides with the launch of the Kabul Process meeting on Tuesday morning.

Representatives from at least 23 countries, including India, are participating in the meeting aimed at establishing peace in the country.

Ghani, who inaugurated the meeting, in which 23 countries are participating, said Afghanistan was in the frontline of terrorism worldwide.

“What will it take to convince Pakistan that a stable Pakistan helps them and helps our region,” an anguished Afghan president said, accusing his neighbor of actively destabilizing the region and Afghanistan.

Afghan intelligence sources have since been reporting that Pakistan’s intelligence agency, the ISI, actively supplied explosive to the Haqqani Network to carry out the Kabul truck blast.

“Pakistan is the key planner of this incident like in the past, but our security team is investigating the incident and these investigations have not been completed,” said Afghanistan’s ministry of interior spokesman Najib Danish.
