It is a common practise that when a new Chief Minister takes over the mantle, he is likely to make drastic changes in the composition of his team of ministers. The new Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani is also not an exception to this as he dropped nine important ministers from the erstwhile cabinet and replaced them with eleven new faces. This is a strategic change as the first time elected Chief Minister would like to bring his own men as ministers so that he can have smooth sailing while functioning as a unified government. The search for the new talent is on to make the party more stronger at a time when Assembly elections are taking place in the state early next year. If the amendment work wonders in the name of development then we can expect a sea change in the functioning of the government. It will help BJP to emerge victorious as the single largest party in the assembly by securing a thumping majority. Anyway, Rupani’s reshuffle and fresh inclusions all have direct bearing on the election verdict. There is no doubt about it.
