Kudos to Sakshi Malik for clinching the bronze in the women’s freestyle 58kg category with a spirited comeback victory over Aisuluu Tynybekova of Kyrgyzstan. Sakshi has created history. India had sent its largest ever contingent of some 118 athletes to Rio, but has little to show for it. Sakshi has done a great job by giving India a medal. She has scripted history by becoming the first woman wrestler from India to bag an Olympic medal and only fourth female athlete from the country to climb to the podium at the biggest sporting event in the world. She did a fabulous job and made all the people of India proud. Sakshi proved that women are not weak. With hard work, determination and commitment – One can achieve anything like Sakshi. She is now an example to all fathers who feel that their daughters should not enter the sports field.
