Satyapal Singh clears his dues and penalties

As per RTI application filed by activist Anil Galgali it has been revealed that Ex Police Commissioner and BJP MP Satyapal Singh had paid dues amounting to Rs 53,800. Mumbai Suburb Collector Office informed Galgali that Satyapal Singh paid the outstanding amount on 21st March 2016 by cheque. Since Singh’s Parliament membership was likely to be revoked hence he cleared his dues.

Earlier Galgali had revealed that Singh, had failed to pay Rs 48,420/- fine imposed by collector, Mumbai suburbs, for renting out his flat at Patliputra Society, Andheri without seeking permission from the latter as required by law. His flat is built on highly subsidised land provided for housing of top government officials and according to rules, he is bound to take collector’s permission after payment of prescribed fee. Collector issued Singh a notice on 28th January 2013 for payment of dues. Singh, then holding the post of Police commissioner of Mumbai Police choose to overlook this notice.
