Today life might have become easier after the advent of technology as many of us own gadgets like mobile phone, laptop and tablets. Nowadays most of the work is performed by machines as man doesn’t have to toil hard for it. Today most of the people are doing desk job as they sit longer duration which has adverse impact on their health. Earlier children used to go outdoor and play games like football, badminton, hockey and cricket. After the advent of technology, they have started staying indoors and remain glued to their cell phones, laptops which is not a good sign. They would only chat with people and have virtual interaction.

Through this mode they also interact with strangers and reveal their personal information. Later they become victims of online abuse. Today parents are unable to keep a watch over their kids activities due to hectic professional lives. They purchase expensive gadgets, video games, mobile games for their kids to make up for their absence at home. Children then get addicted to mobiles and video games and seldom think about going out and play. If children stay indoors then they become socially isolated in the real world.

It is necessary that children should go outside and play outdoor games. They should also get exposed to morning and evening sunlight which is necessary for the development of the body and bones. Physical activity is a good way to reduce mood swings and helps children maintain a sense of emotional well being. Children who get regular physical activity have a more efficient immune system, which help ward off various disease and illnesses such as colds and the flu.

Physically active people are less likely to develop coronary heart disease than those who are inactive. People who don’t perform regular physical activity are more likely to become depressed. Physical inactivity may increase the risk of certain cancers. People who don’t get regular physical activity are more likely to gain excess weight.

Lack of physical activity increases the loss of lean muscle tissue, making activities of daily living (dressing and bathing) and instrumental activities of daily living (grocery shopping, performing transfers) much more difficult to perform. Loss of vital lean muscle tissue also makes it more difficult to maintain body weight.

Bones, like muscles, require regular exercise to maintain their mineral content and strength. Bone loss progresses much faster in people who are physically inactive. Simply by ditching the chair for a few hours a day you can significantly reduce the effects caused by inactivity. Within two weeks, people basically get addicted to walking and working.
