Beating West Indies in the Caribbean islands was a gigantic task in the days of yore when teams even struggled to draw matches against them. However the trend has got reversed today and the Darren Sammy led team is one of the weakest side. India beat West Indies by an innings in the first test and the result could be similar in all games as their team lacks firepower to make an impact.
West Indies today has an ordinary batting and bowling unit and even an Indian club side can beat them with ease. Top players refrain from playing for their national team due to monetary issues and it is really sad that the once undisputed world champions have been reduced to a team that loses most games even against lowly ranked sides. The situation is opposite in India where there is too much money in the game of cricket which is affecting our teams fortune where players excel in IPL but tanks in the limited overs version of the game. Guess, both India and West Indies need an balancing act where players receive reasonable remuneration to excel at the top and play for national pride.
