The arrival of Humboldt penguins at Mumbai’s zoo is excellent news for animal lovers in the country. Mumbai is the commercial capital of the country with large number of people from across the world visiting the city for trade purposes. The renovated zoo with rare species would be another reason for tourists to mix business with pleasure tours. However, the survival of arctic creatures in Mumbai’s weather conditions is a question mark and a matter of debate. Animals breed and live peaceably in their natural habitat and their very survival is at stake if they are made to live in conditions that are monitored by artificial controlled temperatures.

Zoo’s definitely serve a purpose and still remains significant in today’s age where people watch animals on screens. Excellent zoos with rare species would force people to make a beeline to such place and it is good to learn the zoo in Mumbai is being renovated and reinvented. Our country due to its geographical location has thousands of species of rare animals and birds which if brought under a well maintained roof would not only attract millions of tourists but save these species from extinction. Breeding process would be natural and easier, proper count registered and killings of such animals too can be averted.
