Indian boxing is currently run by an ad-hoc committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA).

Ace shooter Abhinav Bindra on Sunday appealed to “the powers that be” to clean the administrative mess in Indian boxing immediately and help “champions” pugilists “get what they so truly deserve”.

Bindra wrote an emotional tweet, “appeal to the powers that be to fix matters with federation immediately so that these champions get what they so truly deserve.”

In another tweet, the Beijing Olympics gold medalist revealed that he went to Baku to cheer Indian boxers competing at the AIBA World Olympic Qualification tournament.

“Went to cheer for our boxers at their Olympic qualifying comp in Baku. They are all champions!” he wrote.

Indian boxing is currently run by an ad-hoc committee of the International Boxing Association (AIBA) after Boxing India was disbanded in 2014 following rebellion from state units.

Earlier, in 2012, the Indian boxing body was suspended due to manipulation in elections, resulting in the borth of Boxing India.

As of now, without a national body, Indian boxers are competing under the AIBA flag in major events.
