Acute water shortage in Maharashtra

The repeated news of acute water shortage in Maharashtra terribly scares us all indiscriminately. As per the news 70% of Maharashtra is badly affected by drought. Thus drought and acute water shortage will certainly lead to unprecedented shortage of all kinds of grains, pulses, vegetables and what not. Unfortunately, this is also the direct result of the tanker and bottled water mafias, not only in Mumbai, but all over Maharashtra and India. Tremendous sale of the bottled water is the result of the smart marketing by the foreign, western countries, mainly like the US. What precautionary steps have been taken by the regional politicians and their loyal party-men and women to avoid such unprecedented drought and acute water shortage in the past five years? I never drink any bottled water and yet I am healthy and strong even at the age of 69. I always drink ‘matka cola.’ I’ve two suggestions to face this acute water shortage, particularly in big and small cities and towns in entire India. Firstly, always offer half glass of water to your guests. Initially the hoteliers should give only half glass of water to the customers. They can be served more if they ask for more water later. Secondly and most importantly, all bottled water and tanker businesses should be banned with immediate effect by bringing an ordinance.
