Racial abuse should not be tolerated by government of India and the attacks on African nationals of late on our shores is truly shameful. It is our country’s responsibility to protect foreign nationals if they visit India on valid travel documents and the law and order machinery should look into the matter and protect people of foreign nationals in general and Africans in particular. However, people coming from abroad too have to follow the law of the land they are visiting and police have every right to deal with them in the strictest manner if they are found breaking any laws when they are here. Drug abuse and trafficking is a major problem with African students and the law should take its own course in such matters. People should not paint everybody with the same brush and only those found guilty should be taken to task by the men in uniform and not by the people!
