Congress party in the dock for wrong reasons

Ishrat’s case is heating up as BJP wanted answers from not just former Home Minister P Chidambaram but also Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi over the Ishrat Jahan case. This comes after a media report claimed that Mr. Chidambaram, the then Home Minister, had signed the first affidavit in the encounter case stating that Jahan was both a Lashkar-e-Taiba operative and part of a plot to assassinate the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi. Congress underplayed a terror plot that could eliminate PM.  It is clearly admitting that you cannot fight this politically. Congress is slowly losing ground in Ishrat’s case as the party leaders tried to pass on the blame on Modi for the encounter attack. Congress tried its best to project Prime Minister Modi as being against some sections of the population but the move boomeranged and BJP regained power with thumping majority. Then Home Minister and both President and Vice-President quietly watched the terror plot bloom to eliminate a political opponent in cowardly move. Thus it was very serious fallout is the way this country’s intelligence and counter-intelligence have been weakened. The Congress party is on the dock for wrong reasons again.
