Raj Thackeray tries to uplift party supporter’s confidence ahead of the assembly election by poking fun on Narendra Modi.
It is rightly said that there is no permanent friends or foes in politics. This statement holds true for MNS supremo Raj Thackeray too as he has poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Raj who earlier had praised Modi for the developmental work undertaken by him in Gujarat had supported him during the Lok Sabha election. He also did not field MNS candidates against BJP to avoid a split in votes. But now he is trying to maintain a distance from Modi as his party is contesting the assembly election single-handedly. During a student meet organised by his party, Thackeray narrated a joke, which he said was circulating on social media about tall claims made by Modi.
By cracking a joke on Modi, Raj Thackeray said, “I will bring sari for you, I will also buy jewellery for you, not just this I will also take you on moon tour. While his wife replies, don’t make tall promises like Narendra Modi.” Students present there laughed on the jokes cracked by Raj. Many of them were also stunned because the MNS leader shares a cordial relation with Narendra Modi.
Many believe that the reason why Raj cracked joke against Modi was to uplift the party supporter’s confidence ahead of the assembly election. By taking a jibe at Modi, Raj was only trying to point out that the former only makes tall promises but fails to fulfill them.
When reporter’s present at the meeting counter questioned Raj Thackeray about the joke cracked by him against Narendra Modi, Raj replied, “Few days back he heard this joke from one of his close friend and appreciated it.”
In the meeting, Raj Thackeray’s son Amit too was present. Speculations were rife over whether Amit will join the party just like Shiv Sena had launched Aditya Thackeray into politics. Raj nonetheless rubbishes the news of the launch of his son in the party.
When asked Raj Thackeray whether he has any plan to launch his son in the party, he said, “My son is not any rocket that I will be launching him. Amit will be inducted into the party at an appropriate time. As of now he is keenly following the party and how we function.
