
A fire broke out at Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Combined Hospital in Lucknow late Monday night, leading to the urgent evacuation of nearly 200 patients. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties have been reported, officials confirmed.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak told PTI Videos that smoke was first spotted on the hospital’s second floor, following which an emergency evacuation was swiftly carried out. “After smoke was seen emanating from the second floor, evacuation of patients was immediately initiated. Approximately 200 patients in all have been moved to safety,” he said.
The fire prompted an immediate response from the fire brigade, which rushed to the spot to control the flames. Hospital staff, including doctors, paramedics, and the superintendent, coordinated efficiently to transfer patients to nearby facilities, ensuring their safety.
Pathak added that firefighting efforts were ongoing and that all departments were working in tandem to bring the situation under control. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
