The game of cricket has brought many outstanding Indian cricketers and Shikhar Dhawan niched his name in the annals of the game since he made his test debut. He did make a lot of difference to the opening slot after poor form saw the exit of Gautam Gambhir leaving the test arena and slowly pushed out out of the shortest form of the game as well. But Dhawan’s poor form in recent times is causing concern to the IPL owners Sunrisers Hyderabad. Left handed batsmen are gifted and the Delhi opener made his presence well with consistent scores at the top of the order. The main problem with left handers is that they try more to play well outside the off stump and that is their weak zone and the chances of perishing is very high for the seasoned opener. Form is just temporary and class is permanent. As Tom Moody, the team’s coach thought it is a matter of time that Shikhar Dhawan settle to score runs at the top and regain his lost form. But perishing at the top of the order will put pressure for batsmen to follow and that will be tackled as a serious issue if his wonted form continue to disappoint him in few more matches of the IPL 9 season.
