Govt should shut down dilapidated bridges

Bridge collapsing like a pack of cards on the Mumbai-Goa highway comes as a shock and should act as an eye-opener. Several passengers are missing and possibly dead should open the eyes of the authorities and the government as several such other old bridges of the British era are still exist in the country. One is really surprised that such an old bridge which had also received an warning alert from the UK govt. in 2013 was still in operation. Citizens life has no value in our country as public utilities are not being looked after or kept in usable condition inspite of crores of money which is collected as tax from the people. The sad incident should act as an eye-opener and government should shut down old bridges after a survey is conducted to see if they are safe or not for travel! Top infrastructure companies should be given the task of constructing new bridges urgently or get those repaired wherever it is possible!
