The winning start to the long and tiresome journey of 12 test matches to follow is an enthralling one. Team India is on cloud nine now. After winning a series in Sri Lanka followed by West Indies, the historic test victory marked our way to success with the new era of cricketers in our side. Virat Kohli is able to dictate terms with the opposition and this is for the first time after Dhoni’s pre-mature retirement we are able to have a grip at home and abroad. The scheme of things is going captain’s way and the vital toss paves way for the victorious march. The batting clicked from the beginning and the all-rounders played a pivotal role in giving a winning start. The team is highly balanced and the outstanding performance of Ravichandran Ashwin is a boon to the team. For adding variety to spin bowling, Ravindra Jadeja has played a pivotal role in helping the side to get respectable totals and at the same time pinned the Kiwi batsmen on one side helping Ashwin to attack from the other side. In all, it was creditable show with both bat and ball and with captain Kohli striking form in coming test matches, we can expect a renaissance of Indian cricket and the team work stands exceptionally well in all the conditions. Kudos to Kohli and company for the historic victory.
