Rakhi-LeadAt a time, when BJP and Shiv Sena has been eyeing the chief ministerial post, Rakhi Sawant wants Republican Party of India (Athawale) (RPI(A)) chief Ramdas Athawale to become the Chief Minister of Maharashtra if the Mahayuti alliance emerge victorious in the forthcoming assembly polls. She also demanded that RPI should be allotted 25 seats for contesting the election. Rakhi wanted Dalits to come together and vote for Athawale.

Speaking to AV Rakhi Sawant who heads RPI(A) women’s wing said, “An opportunity needs to be offered to Ramdas Athawaleji for becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Since there is no consensus between Shiv Sena and BJP over thechief ministerial post hence Athawale should occupy this position.”

In the past, Mahayuti leader’s has demanded that Marathi Manoos should be elected as the CM of Maharashtra. The Shiv Sena has already began projecting party Chief Uddhav Thackeray as its chief ministerial candidate. On the other hand, BJP is confident that the party can repeat the feat achieved by it in Lok Sabha polls in assembly election too. The saffron party believes that Narendra Modi factor will work for the second time. In the past, BJP had played second fiddle to Sena but this time the party is aiming for a bigger role in the state. BJP state President Devendra Fadnavis and Leader of Opposition Vinod Tawde are the contenders for CM’s post from the saffron party.

“Ramdas Athawale has worked for the welfare for Dalit community so he is one of the deserving candidates like Uddhavji to lead the state. If Athawale becomes Chief Minister then it will augur well for the state,” Rakhi Sawant further added.

Rakhi also expressed her desire to make a movie based on Ramdas Athawale’s life. Two days ago in a press conference held in Delhi, she also expressed her desire to see Athawale as the Prime Minister of India.

In the press conference Rakhi said, “I have come to Delhi to fulfill my dream. My dream is that Athawaleji should become a chief minister and one day he should lead the nation. If a tea-seller (Modi) can become Prime Minister, why not Athawale? He has worked for the welfare of masses. Like he (Modi) said good days are coming (Ache din aane wale hai-BJP poll slogan), we too are waiting for good days for Athawale.”

RamdasAthawale said, “Right now I would like to concentrate about working in the centre. Since our party lacks the necessary numbers I can’t think about becoming Chief Minister now. Rakhi Sawant had expressed her comment today but our alliance with Sena-BJP will continue.”
