Make officials accountable for building collapse incidents

Another building collapses in Bhiwandi killing innocent lives which is the second incident that has occurred in the last one week. Human life in our country has no value as thousands of people are killed every year in tragedies that are avoidable. Bridges and old buildings are collapsing like a pack of cards, rail and road accidents due to faulty infrastructure are on the rise, roads and highways in poor shape apart from many other irregularities which results in thousands of people being killed in unnatural deaths which speaks about poor governance in our country.

The government collects crores of rupees in form of various taxes every year but the same is not utilized for the purpose for which it is collected due to corruption and malpractices. The message should be loud and clear that people would refrain from paying taxes and revolt if public utilities are not improved and safety of the citizens are not taken care of by the government. The Supreme Court too should monitor the public spending by the government so that taxes collected are spent for the purpose they are meant for. Citizens too should use their voting rights effectively in a manner that forces government machinery to work selflessly.
