Congress-NCP says that the BJP’s strategy to appoint Amit Shah for handling Maharasthra poll campaign will backfire.

Lead_Amit_ShahThe BJP is pinning their hopes on the newly elected party president Amit Shah to sweep the upcoming assembly polls in Maharasthra after its impressive performance in Lok Sabha election. On the other hand, the Congress-NCP questioned Shah’s credibility as he possesses criminal background. They are confident of giving him a tough fight in the assembly election. The scenario has changed after BJP has come to power and people are unhappy with the party for its inability to check rising inflation.

Talking to AV, NCP spokesperson Nawab Malik addressed Amit Shah as ‘murderer’ and said, “What’s the big deal if one more murderer arrives in Maharashtra to campaign for BJP. It won’t make any difference to our party. We had defeated several murderers like this in the past.”

Congress party spokesperson Sachin Sawant said, “Only BJP can take initiative to bring an externed leader like Amit Shah in Maharashtra. The saffron party always relies on an individual leader to win election and it lacks vision. In the recently concluded Lok Sabha election BJP fooled voters by appointing Narendra Modi as the head of election campaign. However, their strategy will fail to click this time. Their magic won’t work everytime.”
Earlier BJP Mumbai unit President Ashish Shelar expressed confidence that Amit Shah will steer the party to spectacular victory in Maharashtra.

“Amit Shah is born in Maharashtra so he is very well versed with the politics of the state. Wherever Amit bhai goes, victory follows. We are confident that he will sweep Maharashtra in the upcoming assembly polls, the way he won states like UP and Gujarat during the Lok Sabha elections.”
Many Maharashtra BJP leaders had met Amit Shah to discuss about the poll preparations in the state.

“Amit Shah is the leader who always worked for the welfare of people and also understands the issues of backward classes. He will help the party. His leadership in the state ensured that Mahayuti will win the upcoming assembly election.” Ashish Shelar further added.

A controversial politician, Mr Shah is accused of sanctioning the killing of a Muslim civilian in 2005, when he was the home minister of Gujarat state.

In 2010, Mr Shah resigned after he was charged with murder and kidnapping of Sohrabuddin Sheikh and arrested in connection with the killing. He spent more than three months in jail after which he was released on bail.

When the CBI named him in its chargesheet in the murder of small-time gangster Shohrabuddin Sheikh, Shah went virtually underground in the months before his arrest. He stopped using his official mobile phone and his official car.
