The residents of Navamala SRA CHS Ltd., Konkanashtha SRA CHS Ltd, Amrapali SRA CHS Ltd., and Lumbini SRA CHS Ltd situated at Dr. Ambedkar Road, Khar (W) had gone on a hunger strike for protesting against the inaction of SRA officials and Deputy Collector and Additional Collector. They have also failed to conduct any inquiry into this matter.
Pawar Bhoru Yashwant had filed a complaint with the C.E.O, Deputy Collector and Additional Collector (Ench), Principal Secretary Housing Department Chairman HPC against by M/s Joy Builders for producing forged document like light bills and other relevant documents for proving themselves eligible for SRA scheme. They had taken this step for the sake of availing additional FSI for builders. He had registered a complaint on 22nd August, 1st September and 9th September respectively. Even though Mr Yashwant had submitted proof in support of his claim but the SRA officials and Deputy Collector and Additional Collector have failed to take action against the builder.
The Collector Authority is hand in glove with the Joy Builders and has forcibly demolished all the structures of slum dwellers who have now become homeless. Around 33 families have no roof over their head are forced to sleep on streets. They are some residents who have been residing here since last few decades. Senior citizens and children are facing huge hardships due to the demolition of their houses. Some children are unable to study for their examinations and are under severe stress while the elderly persons have to take medications and need family support.
Sushil Shushipal said, “This is SRA plot and houses have not been allotted to us. We have sent many letters to various government offices but have not received any response.”
“We don’t want anything; all we want is proper rent and agreement as we are in possession of all genuine documents. It is clear case of corruption. SRA has no shareholders and the builder is merely fooling the government as well as the public” he added.
Surendar Pawar said, “The demolition took place on November 26. We are in possession of evidence and are aware that the government is hand in glove with these builders. The builder is taking everyone for a ride. No houses can be demolished when people are residing there.”
Residents want all the authorities including Collector, Additional Collector, C.E.O of SRA and the Hon’ble Chief Minister to take immediate action by revoking Letter of Intent (LOI).
