Odd-even scheme succeeds in Delhi

Fifty per cent pollution levels down in a span of a few days is welcome news and a big thumbs up to the odd-even scheme that is being experimented in the country’s capital. Emission levels under control at the sacrifice of a few comforts of door to door transportation which enhances the health of the people should be welcomed by all and the scheme could be tried in other metropolitan cities of the country where pollution levels are at dangerous levels.

Good public transportation which promises comfort as well as efficiency is the need of the hour. Private car permit with exorbitant fees which discourage people to use cars at peak hours should be the order of the day not just to check pollution but road congestion as well. Electric cars and gas vehicles which are environmental friendly should be encouraged.

Health is wealth and the government should declare a war to check emission levels in the country. People too should cooperate and a giving up a few comforts which improves their health should be taken positively by the citizens!
