Pathankot attacks a result of intelligence failure!

The job of an enemy country or terrorist groups is to strike their targets and create havoc but are we as a nation really prepared to counter such situations of panic? The Pathankot incident truly exposes our ill-preparedness to deal with terrorism as the strikes were on our airbase where strategic and secret weapons of war were installed and the fact that the enemy camp could enter it surely would have given them morale victory though the terrorist were eventually killed after a fierce encounter that lasted a couple of days.

Buying costly weapons and ammunition means nothing if our intelligence fails to intercept enemy moves and plans. If our airbase and military camps are unsafe, the less said the better about civilian areas and crowded metropolitan cities like Mumbai etc which are easy targets for terror. Prime Minister Modi should take a note of these serious intelligence lapses and concentrate on our nation’s security and sovereignty than touring the globe for support be it economic or security related as we have to fight our own battle.

Defence and Home Ministers of India along with Prime Minister should review these security lapses urgently at top priority so that such incidents are not repeated in future. Also, there should be no politics on matters of defence and even the opposition should unite with the government on such matters to show our unity to the globe though they may fight on other matters.
