After Public demand, Mumbai will have a swanky veterinary hospital and pet crematorium under the control of BMC. So the pet animals will have a leg up and will get the Medicare under a registered hospital of the government. Again, the city had only one crematorium for animals run by a NGO and now will have one more under the care of BMC. As the environmental clearance is required for a crematorium, the new one will operate on compressed natural gas and ensure pollution free. This facility will be offered free. Thus the pets will have better care when they become sick and when it is dead after an ailment or due to old age. It is a right step in the right direction.
