In the latest development in the Sheena Bora murder case, the police on Wednesday searched the homes of Indrani Mukherjea’s husband and former TV tycoon Peter Mukerjea and former husband Sanjeev Khanna. The searches were conducted by the police almost simultaneously in a bid to hunt for more clues.

A team of the Mumbai Police landed up at Peter and Indrani Mukerjea’s Worli house and took away some documents, a laptop and diary.

In the other search, the police seized some financial documents and electronic gadgets from Khanna’s Kolkata residence. The police also raided the premises belonging to Khanna’s business associate Ajay Rawla.

This came even as Indrani, Sanjeev Khanna and Peter Mukerjea continued to be interrogated at the Khar police station in Mumbai. All three are likely to be brought face-to-face for questioning.

According to sources, the police asked Peter Mukerjea about his financial transactions and business dealings.

The police team seized a laptop and papers related to bank accounts and investments of Indrani Khanna from his residence in Kolkata. According to a senior officer of Kolkata Police, the team from Mumbai Police, alongwith a team from the city force, visited Khanna’s residence in Hastings area and seized his laptop as a part of their probe into the murder mystery.

He said the Mumbai Police team also seized papers related to Khanna’s bank accounts and investments. “They (Mumbai Police) asked for our help in getting Khanna’s laptop. We only assisted them in that and we have no clue about the investigation into the case,” the officer said.

Indrani Mukerjea is accused of killing Sheena, her daughter from an earlier relationship, in 2012 allegedly with the help of her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyam Rai.

A local court had earlier extended the police custody of the three accused till September 5.
