Politicians interfering in academics bad for education!

One is really surprised by the Union Cabinet’s decision to defer National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) by a year as it had the stamp of the Supreme Court and unnecessary interference by politicians in the education sector is bad for the country. NEET was to upgrade the competition level of our education system conducting common entrance exam for the entire nation. Conducting CET this year makes no sense when NEET eventually would be introduced from next year. We in India believe in getting things done through protest which is stalling the nation’s growth and development. A student who had studied well for CET would not have found it difficult to crack NEET. However it is the coaching classes which impose pressure on the government as they remain underprepared for NEET and not the students. Our education system needs to be overhauled so that the quality of teaching improves in school and college and students don’t not to rely on coaching institutes. Only those weak students should attend these classes instead of toppers but reverse is the case in India which is truly sad!
