Many people are unaware about Shiv Sena candidate Uttam Agarwal who will contest election from Borivali constituency.

Know-your-neta-lead-1After breaking up with BJP the Shiv Sena has been finding it tough to field capable candidates to contest assembly polls. The party had decided to go solo after the failed seat sharing talks with BJP. However, Sena had little time to find the right candidate as the day of filing nomination was reaching closer. The party had fielded Uttam Agarwal, ICAI president from Borivali constituency. Nobody is aware about Mr Agarwal who also possesses fraudulent background. Shiv Sena is sending a wrong message to voters by fielding unpopular candidates. Voters often check the credentials of a candidate and the work done by him before voting for him. Since Agarwal is not a renowned face hence he may not be able to attract voters.

He was elected as the President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the year 2009-10. Sena is unable to field right candidates and is facing crisis. The voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly is on October 15 and the counting of votes is on October 19. For the first time in decades, the BJP, Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party will contest separately, making it a four-cornered contest in Maharashtra with Raj Thackeray’s Maharashtra Navnirman Sena or MNS providing the fifth angle.

On the other hand, BJP had fielded leader of opposition in legislative council Vinod Tawde to contest poll from Borivali constituency. Tawde is not a known face in Borivali as he resides in south Mumbai. Gopal Shetty emerged victorious due to the prevalence of Modi wave.

When AV spoke to Vinod Tawde about the reason behind him fighting election from a place like Borivali he said, “I have worked with Gopal Shetty in Borivali as he became a better legislator from this constituency hence I was instructed by my party to contest poll from there. The Modi wave is different. Before contesting election we inform people about what work we are planning to do and we fulfill our promises. We plan to build good schools, hospitals for Borivali and other parts of Maharashtra. We plan to develop an industrial hub in suburban Mumbai. “
