The hacking scandal that’s affected an ever-growing number of female celebrities claimed another A-list victim yesterday.
Nude photos of Rihanna were posted to 4Chan and Reddit yesterday morning before being quickly deleted by site administrators.
The singer is one of the dozens of models, singers, and actresses who have had their private photos stolen and leaked online in recent weeks.
The scandal began in early September, when nude photos of Jennifer Lawrence appeared on various photo-sharing sites. Within hours, hundreds of pics taken from the private iCloud accounts of stars like Kate Upton and Kaley Cuoco were posted across the web.
While the hackers were never caught, the problem seemed to have subsided after the first round of leaks.
Yesterday, however, stolen photos of Kim Kardashian were posted to Reddit followed shortly thereafter by private, explicit shots of actresses Vanessa Hudgens, Hayden Panettiere, and Gabrielle Union.
Fortunately, this time around, admins were better prepared, and were able to quickly remove the photos from the various websites where they appeared.
Rihanna has been a vocal opponent of Instagram’s anti nudity policy, and the “Pour It Up” singer famously wore wore a see-through dress at a recent fashion industry event.
But there’s a big difference, of course, between making the decision to publicly share nude photos, and beingforced to have your most private moments revealed to the world.
Rihanna has yet to comment on the matter publicly, but she has reportedly contacted authorities.
