In the death of Martin Crowe, New Zealand cricket has lost its all time best batsman and the world of cricket a legendary batsman. He was the Robinhood of modern day cricket and every budding youngster in international cricket wanted to bat like him. New Zealand cricket has been orphaned by his untimely death and the void created by his passing away would be difficult to fill.

Crowe captained New Zealand at a difficult time and one felt his services as an leader were exemplary but sadly was not utilised by that country’s cricket board to the fullest. Fifty three is too young an age to die and Martin Crowe became a victim of cancer which has robbed many great cricketers in the recent past. Crowe took to television commentary and cricket analysis after his cricketing days and his views were even respected by the greats of the game! R.I.P Martin Crowe! May his soul Rest in Peace!
