Silver lining over the dark horizon and a ray of hope for a medal at the Rio Olympics as PV Sindhu blasted her way into the semi-finals, overcoming a tough resistance from World No.2 and silver medalist at London Olympics  Wang Yihan in straight games to the delight of all Indians. Incredible performance from 10th ranked Sindhu as she played power packed badminton to upset the more fancied Wang Yihan who was all at sea to the stamina and reflexes of the Indian ace who now looks favourite to enter the finals and put our country’s name on the medal tally.

India’s Saina Nehwal one thought was a favourite to win a medal here but lost out due to a nagging injury that troubled her game but thanks to Sindhu’s excellent shuttling that we are back in contention for a medal in badminton. The down to earth PV Sindhu’s game seems more balanced as she uses the court well to off balance her opponents and the world of badminton would hear a lot about her exploits in the years to come. Here is wishing Sindhu the very best as wins in the next two games would be history in the making and will make the entire nation proud.
