Stop consuming junk food

Health is wealth and the Government has every right to be concerned over its people’s health. The recent drive and the initiative taken by the State Government is a step in the right direction.  As we have over 60 per cent people below 35 years of age, it is the utmost duty of the Government to ask people to undergo health check as they always crave for fast food. People should be prevented from falling into the trap of depending on outside food three times a day.  Thus, the decision to discourage people from eating junk food is a step in the right direction.  Instead of just considering the levying fat tax option, it is time to implement it without any hesitation. Already awareness has been created through documentaries and other announcements through social media to prevent outside eating. Even newspapers should also bring out the ill effects of eating outside and the ways and means to avoid going for junk food and to teach them about the importance of eating healthy food.  Further, it is time to educate people about what is healthy food and the reasons for the need for avoiding fast food available on the streets.  Higher tax liability is creating the awareness for the people to curtail expenses. Taking up a right cause by over-charging citizens for having outside food is one more way of preventing them from eating junk food and making them realise the need for healthy food to enhance their life span in the best way possible.
