Acid attacks, though not fatal, are worse than murder, and should be judged and punished as a special category. Victims are condemned to living out a life sentence behind dark glasses and veils, subjects of pity – initially – and, later, disgust, loathing and revulsion. One of the main reasons for this is the movies. Though women possess equal rights as men, their safety is still a cause of concern. First of all, the government should take steps to prevent acid attacks. The acids that are sold in unauthorized centers should be traced and stopped. Death sentence should be awarded to the culprits. The court should not leave the culprits to escape from the law in the name of bail. The public should also raise their hands against this issue. Safety should also be provided to every woman, be it a child or an elderly woman.
