TDP leader Gandi Babji has accused the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) of using animal fat in the consecrated Tirupati Prasadam at the Sri Venkateswara Temple. Babji claimed that the previous YSRCP government was involved in illegal activities for financial gain, disregarding public sentiment and temple sanctity.
According to Babji, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu initiated an inquiry after coming to power, uncovering that substandard and contaminated ghee had been used in the preparation of the Prasadam. He emphasized the government’s responsibility to identify and punish those responsible for the malpractice.
The controversy has sparked strong reactions. Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan expressed his dismay and called for the creation of a ‘Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board’ to protect the sanctity of temples. Meanwhile, YSRCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy announced plans to write to the Prime Minister and the Chief Justice of India, accusing Naidu of twisting facts to tarnish his party’s image.
