Irrigation scam in Maharashtra has taken a new turn and Ajit Pawar is on the dock for wrong reason. The State is in the process of probing project link with the irrigation scam. More and more heads are to be rolled in this regard. Thus trouble is ahead for the NCP leader as fresh allegations against Ajit Pawar will be probed. At a time when farmers are committing suicide for lack of yield due to shortage of water for irrigation, Ajit Pawar gave clearance for projects against the rules. By colluding with contractors huge projects like Krish Marathwada Lift irrigation scheme was sanctioned costing to the tune of Rs,4845 crore. Thus the norms were not followed and projects were sanctioned without a holistic approach. It is time to punish Pawar.
