Supreme Court should appoint Sunil Gavaskar as a caretaker President in the light of recent sad events at BCCI till the time the New Zealand series is underway and suspend all office bearers of the institution for not following the recommendations of Justice RM Lodha who was appointed by them. This is breach of the apex court’s trust which should not be allowed as sports administrations are not private or money minting bodies but their sole aim should be development of sports and bring laurels for the nation. Politicians should have no place in sporting bodies and only past sportsman who has done India proud should be part of the institution. All sports federation should be brought under a common organization so that no sports suffers on account of dearth of funds. Excess money generated in cricket can be utilised in other sports where we have the talent but the funds are missing for the development of sports like hockey, athletics, gymnastics etc. IPL is the source of all evils due to betting and money involved. It should be banned immediately so that irregularities on corruption can be checked and sportsmen play for pride and not money!
