Selection committee deliberation to select the team should remain within the four walls of the board room and I wonder what Sandeep Patil wants to convey now that Tendulkar would have been dropped from the ODI team had he not retired from ODI in 2012. This is cheap publicity seeking gimmick from Patil to remain in the news now that his term as Chairman of selectors has ended and that too after 4-5 years of the event happening!
Sachin Tendulkar is the greatest cricketer the world has ever witnessed and he does not need a certificate from Patil to prove his credentials. I had immense respect for Sandeep Patil as a cricketer and coach but this sudden outburst for no reason has really shocked me and other sports lovers in the country. There are certain rules and ethics which needs to be followed when you are part of the selection committee to select the national side. Patil should be taken to task for this breach of trust and unruly behaviour!
