Child birth is not trade or business and the introduction of bill seeking a complete ban on commercial surrogacy by the cabinet is a move in the right direction. Birth of a child is a gift of god and surrogacy was unethical as it was being done for money and business. Couples unable to conceive (Even legally wedded couples) should go in for adoption which is an better option than going for surrogacy pregnancy which is producing baby in a lab after giving the body of the women lot of pain and medication. Adoption is an noble act which gives an orphan child a shelter over his head and at the same time gives the couple without a child somebody who will look after them in old age. Rules and procedure for adoption which are cumbersome must be made simpler so that many people go in for adoption.
