Banking on monsoon rains

Failure of monsoon rains have played havoc in the last couple of years, we all in Maharashtra look forward to excess rain this time to resolve water scarcity problem and also for addressing farmers suicide issue. The arrival of southwest monsoon has been delayed by a week in Kerala hence Mumbaikars can expect rainfall around June 17. The rain deficit continued for the last two years and the impact is faced by us now with a drought like situation. We should pray that rainfall should reach western coasts by first week of June in full swing.   The sowing of key crops need not suffer in anyway and the good monsoon prediction is good news for farmers. Water scarcity issue faced by common people and inadequate water for irrigation purpose will be solved simultaneously.
