Chidambaram is not only trying to save his position but also try to cover up his son Karti’s unaccounted wealth by giving a lame excuse that he has been targetted. Karti was in the thick of controversy in the past also and remain a richie rich with the influence of his father. In the last Parliamentary election P. Chidambaram did not contest and conceded his seat to his son Karti but the errant son could win the Sivagangai seat despite his father’s high influence in that particular constituency. The former finance minister is on the dock in the Ishrat episode as well and to add to that his son is facing charges for accumulating undisclosed assets abroad. Congress regime under the banner of UPA allowed the bureaucrats to accumulate wealth disproportionate to their income and now it is coming in open one by one. Instead of giving excuses Chidambaram should put his house in order before trying to defend himself from other charges. For the present moment Chidambaram is cornored by controversy.
