Dharavi Revamp

Dharavi slums revamp is in the news and nothing was done so far. Even the scheme failed to attract developers. The State Government has to invite global tenders for Dharavi revamp work. It is a step in the right direction as this work is overdue for a very long time. Bureaucrats and politicians visit Dharavi slum and indulge in vote bank politics and do nothing for the area’s facelift. Even the cine actors earning crores of rupees through the fan following from the slums did not care to spend even a lakh of rupees for the benefit of the people staying there. Thus the place is meant for the benefit for such kind of people and no useful purpose is served for slum dwellers. The Khans can adopt slums like Dharavi and Mankhurd and do a world of good for the welfare of the people small colonies adjoining the slum. Now the State Government has taken an initiative and it is in the initial stage of inviting global tenders. We hope that better council will prevail and no one will play spoilsport to stop the welfare work if everything goes well as per plan.
