Djokovic is the king of Tennis

Djokovic deserved his sixth Australian open title in Melbourne after thrashing Murray in straight sets. Thus the World No.1 player joins Laver and Borg with 11 Grand Slam titles. Novak keeps rising down under and his stupendous show in singles makes him king of tennis. He did make a great impact in the third set tie breaker and that sealed the show in the end. After 49 years a tennis player has won the Australian open tournament six times within a short span of time. Roy Emerson of Australia did it six times between 1961-1967 and the Serb player did it from 2008 to 2016. Even though Djokovic dispatched Murray in straight set it took two hours and 53 minutes to complete the massacre. The winner has now won 21 matches on the trot in Grand Slam matches and has not lost a match at the majors since he was defeated by Stan Warwinka in last year’s French open final. Murray on the other hand lost all five Australian finals and still paid an emotional tribute to his pregnant wife after the match. Djokovic reigns the courts down under but Andy Murray is down but not out as a valiant loser.
