The month of April continue to swelter under severe heat and with water problem increasing day by day, people find it very difficult to manage the heat in this month. This time round, the summer season started from February end and continued throughout March and in April we feel maximum heat and get worse day by day. The saddest part is that the night temperatures for the next couple of weeks will be higher than normal and that will make the life more miserable. Already nearly 70 people have succumbed to the heat condition in eastern part of India and even Western India suffers because of the escalating problem in Marathwada and other regions. With that, the water storage in the major water reservoirs in the State is getting dried up and it is the lowest storage in the last 10 years. People are scared to walk outside and two wheeler vehicle riders cover their face to escape from the hot sun. In fact, it is the hottest April in five years and the heat will get worse as the summer truly sets in. It is indeed a testing time for people in Maharashtra in general and the metro city of Mumbai in particular.
