BCCI is in thick of controversies as in the past now Supreme Court (SC) gives four weeks time to accept Lodha panel’s recommendations in total. That means there is no second innings for the BCCI officials seeking election for the world’s richest sporting body. It is a move over politicos and babus ruling the cricket world is coming to an end. The sense of urgency expressed by the Apex court is also evident from the fact that it has questioned the need for further consultation among the 20 member states of the BCCI, when Justice Lodha had already held wide spread consultation with the stake holders before finalizing the recommendations.  As of now, there is no second innings now, as the bench has emphasized that the key recommendations pertaining to cooling of period between successive terms for top officials banning ministers and government servants from occupying BCCI posts and inducting professionals under Chief Executive Officer to run the board’s affairs in a reasonable way.  In the meanwhile, the International Cricket Council is all set to scrap the controversial constitutional amendments, which gave executive clout and financial power to India, Australia and England with its Shashank Manohar led Board agreed that the current system, put in place by controversial former head N. Srinivasan needed to be done away with. BCCI is in a tangle and there is no second innings for babus.
