Farmers are in distress and left in the lurch and no one cares for their well-being even though agriculture is the backbone of this country. The recent suicide by Jalna farmer opened up the Pandora’s box. Having witnessed many suicides in Maharashtra, the State Government ought to have taken remedial steps to bring down suicides in this corridor. The villagers must have thought it as a joke but it turned into a true incident in the end. It is time to avoid blame game and go in for taking up the deserving cases and do a world of good. Vidharba region suffered mostly because of suicides and the food ministry should see light at the end of the tunnel rather than precipating the matter. It is now or never situation and it is a wake up call to go all out and make sure that all the sufferings come to an end and the debt ridden farmer should be freed to plough his land with additional aid and to give them a sigh of relief.
