Pink revolution in cricket

While the pink ball was the object of most interest heading into the domestic circuit, the tactics that it is likely to spawn become the talking point and will become an Indian history. The new pink coloured Kookaburra ball that will be introduced in Duleep Trophy matches on an experimental basis has come good and is likely to stay long.

Traditionalists have decried the concept keeping an eagle eye on the pink ball. However, like anxious parents fussing over their reluctant child on a school morning before the class photo, Indian cricket board has gone to great lengths to ensure the match puts on its best face for the cameras. Over seven painstaking years have been devoted to the development and testing of Kookaburra’s pink ball but still it seems the ball arrived in a hurry. The game of cricket has seen many changes from the laws of the game to the coloured balls and it is time to have a day and night test cricket for the convenience of live viewers.
