Recently WHO projected that diabetes will be the 7th leading cause of death in 2030. One should keep a check on the lifestyle disorder by modifying food habits, making exercise as part of life, reducing the intake of junk food and adopting relaxation techniques life to keep stress at bay. It is unfortunate that the youths in particular are falling prey to alcoholism and tobacco abuse. There is need to organise awareness programmes at educational Institutions on the evils of consumption of alcohol and tobacco. We need to rethink our daily lives — to eat healthily, be physically active and avoid excessive weight gain. Safety in food is also a resultant of the integrity and strictness of those who impose the rules. Diabetes is a chronic condition in which the body either does not make enough insulin to break down the sugar in foods or uses insulin inefficiently. It can cause early death or serious complications like blindness, stroke, kidney disease, amputation and heart disease. Prevention is better than cure. Eat healthy, Stay Health.
