IPL extravaganza has taken the cricket fans by surprise as the local Mumbai Indians were taken by surprise as the debut team Rising Pune Supergiants defeated the home outfit by 9 wickets and started of their campaign on a very bright note. Dhoni transferring his links to Pune side after the axing of CSK side, romped home victors against a weaker opposition. The test recruits played in bits and pieces and no one was able to hold the fort and make it a winning combination. Ajinkya Rahane sidelined most of the time during World cup T-20 came good and surprised the skipper with big hitting in quick time to help the side to coast a win with more than 30 balls to spare. The pitch at Wankhede could not be watered to the required level and hence the Mumbai outfit could muster only 121 in 20 overs and that was an easy target for the Pune side. IPL extravaganza started with much fanfare but petered out into a one sided game. Mumbai musing started rather early in IPL games this time.
