In fresh trouble for the controversial ‘godwoman’ Radhe Maa, the state police has issued a summon for her, following a complaint lodged by a local resident Surinder Mittal, accusing her of trying to bribe him, threatening, torturing, seducing, hurting his religious sentiments and also for spreading obscenity and vulgarity.

Mittal who is also a former district president of VHP has even accused Radhe Maa of disturbing him late at night.

Following the complaint was filed, the self-styled godwoman had been asked to join investigation in connection with Mittal’s complaint submitted to Kapurthala SSP Rajinder Singh about 10-days ago, cops said. A special police messenger carried the notice to Mumbai and served it on Saturday.

The Punjab Police also said that if Radhe Maa does not respond within ten days, she will be sent summons again.

Furthermore, in the complaint, Mittal had also demanded registration of a case against Radhe Maa’s sister Rajjo Maasi, her daughter-in-law Megha, her close associate Ritu Sareen also called as Chhotti Maa and her follower, Mumbai-based Sanjeev Gupta, they said.

Mittal had submitted recordings of his telephonic conversations with Radhe Maa and her sister in April last and printouts of WhatsApp messages from their mobile phones and that of her daughter-in-law.

He further alleged that he was offered money and when he rejected them and he started getting threats.

He claimed she was “falsely claiming herself as incarnation of goddess” and was hurting religious sentiments and spreading obscenity.

The SSP had marked the complaint to Phagwara police, which, after perusing it, sent a ‘parwana'(notice) to her through a special messenger to Mumbai, they said.

When contacted, Phagwara DSP Manpreet Singh Dhillon confirmed it.

He, however, clarified that only a notice was served.

“No summons were sent to her and no case was yet registered against her. She has only been asked to join the investigations,” said Dhillon.

Recently, the self-proclaimed ‘godwoman’ who is also accused in a dowry harassment case, and known for her lavish lifestyle and high-profile ‘devotees’, stirred a controversy after several objectionable pictures of her surfaced in the media.
